If you have spare time on your hands and enjoy sailing then why not find your local Sailability charity and volunteer. The orginisation was set up by the RYA to encourage Disabled people to sail and even race at centre’s around the country. The work is friendly very rewarding and a way of making friends. You could be involved in rigging boats assisting launch and recovery and with RYA training you could become a “Buddy” and take out disabled skippers and teach them how to sail. Telling Tails

Have you ever noticed when the wind is all over the place or light that there is always some one that can keep their boat moving much faster than the pack? Well the WB-SAILS Ltd web site could help you.

The site has been set up for the big boat and dinghy sailor, but there is a lot of areas of interest that could help Radio Yacht skippers. I have always found that well places and visible “tell tails” can make a great deal of difference if used as an indicator to the trim and direction of the boat relative to the wind. This web site carries interactive sections on what tell tails are telling you and how to use them to maintain speed and direction.
